AMERICAN FLYERS (1985) (BLU-RAY)

Kevin Costner and David Grant star as brothers struggling to win a world-class cycling competition and regain the respect and affection they once shared. The painful events surrounding their father’s death have caused a rift. To bridge the gap, both enter the Hell of the West, a grueling race through the Rocky Mountains. While training and racing together, each confronts the fear that the congenital ailment that struck down their father could suddenly strike one of them.

C’MON C’MON (2021) (BLU-RAY, DVD)

Johnny (Joaquin Phoenix) and his young nephew (Woody Norman) forge a tenuous but transformational relationship when they are unexpectedly thrown together in this delicate and deeply moving story about the connections between adults and children, the past and the future, from writer-director Mike Mills.

FABIAN: GOING TO THE DOGS (2021) (BLU-RAY)

In 1931 Berlin, Jakob Fabian works in a cigarette factory by day and drifts through bars, brothels and art studios by night. When Fabian meets the beautiful and confident Cornelia, he manages to shed his pessimistic attitude and fall in love. Not long after, he loses his job and plunges back into a depression while Cornelia’s career as an actress begins to take off thanks to her wealthy boss and admirer.

FANDANGO (1985) (BLU-RAY)

Originally a student film made while director Kevin Reynolds studied at USC, Fandango stars Kevin Costner, Judd Nelson, and Sam Robards as college students from 1971 Texas who embark on one last road trip together before facing the perils of adulthood, including graduation, marriage, and the draft for the Vietnam War. 

KIMI (2022) (DVD)

A tech worker with agoraphobia discovers recorded evidence of a violent crime, but is met with resistance when she tries to report it. Seeking justice, she must do the thing she fears the most: she must leave her apartment.

LAST LOOKS (2021) (BLU-RAY, DVD)

A disgraced ex-cop seeks solace by moving to the woods, but his quiet life comes to an end when a private eye recruits him to investigate a murder.

MARY SHELLEY’S FRANKENSTEIN (1994) (4K UHD, BLU-RAY)

At the turn of the 19th century, visionary scientist Victor Frankenstein (Kenneth Branagh) embarks on an obsessive quest to conquer the mysteries of human mortality. But his hubristic bid to create life out of death goes hideously wrong, and succeeds only in begetting a deformed monster (Robert De Niro). Horrified by what he has wrought, the scientist attempts to destroy his creation, but fails. Rejected by his creator and shunned by the world of man, the tormented creature swears vengeance against Frankenstein and his family. As the monster begins to enact his murderous revenge, Victor must face a terrible reckoning with the tragic consequences of attempting to play God.

Set in Detroit in the not-too-distant future, heroic cop Alex Murphy (Peter Weller) is gunned down in the line of duty, only to be resurrected as RoboCop – a cybernetic mix of spare human parts and Motor City steel, and the latest defense against crime designed by the all-powerful OCP Corporation. As RoboCop’s memories of his former life as Murphy resurface, only his ex-partner (Nancy Allen) stands beside him to fight against the vicious thugs responsible for his death, as well as a nefarious top-level OCP executive orchestrating the chaos from above.

SERVANTS (2020) (DVD)

In Czechoslovakia, 1980, the totalitarian Communist regime demands allegiance from all its subjects, including the clergy. Servants follows Michal and Juraj, two conflicted novitiates whose seminary is under increasing pressure by the Party to mold its students into satisfactory citizens. With the school on the brink of dissolution, and its head priest a target for blackmail, Michal and Juraj will have to choose between collaborating with the government as informants, or becoming targets of the secret police.
