New Releases for April 26!

It’s another glorious New Release Tuesday!

BLU = Also available to rent on Blu-ray disc

First up, the Heroes at the Criterion Collection have brought us a lovely blu-ray upgrade of David Lean’s adaptation of Noel Coward’s BRIEF ENCOUNTER (@ BLU), possibly the most heartbreaking movie ever made, and somehow actually just as good if not better than Lean’s own legendary LAWRENCE OF ARABIA.

Then, a trio of releases of the work of animator Friz Freleng. THE ANT AND THE AARDVARK (@ BLU), CRAZYLEGS CRANE (@ BLU), and THE INSPECTOR (@ BLU) altogether feature over 75 different cartoons from Freleng/DePatie studios, many of which haven’t been available on video before.

And B-movie king Frank Henenlotter has a documentary called THAT’S SEXPLOITATION (@ BLU)…the title sort of says it all.
