It’s another Glorious New Release Tuesday!
BLU = Also available to rent on Blu-ray disc
3D BLU = Available for rent on lovely 3D Blu-ray, though you must have a 3D TV to experience the full glory
@ = Available for sale in the store (but we can special order anything, see us for details)
This week’s coolest release is the 50th Anniversary edition of maybe the greatest western of all time, THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY (@ BLU). This is a brand new restoration that includes both the original theatrical version, the 1999 Extended cut, and a whole treasure trove of extras.
As for the rest, don’t forget to check out the following: the Heroes at the Criterion Collection have Mike Leigh’s early TV film MEANTIME (@ BLU) as well as the little-seen 1980 Walter Matthau spy comedy HOPSCOTCH (@ BLU). The xenomorph returns in ALIEN: COVENANT (@ BLU). Warner Archive has 70’s classics NIGHT MOVES (@ BLU) and FREEBIE AND THE BEAN (@ BLU). King Vidor’s DUEL IN THE SUN (@ BLU) is one of Scorsese’s favorite films. AFTER THE STORM (@ BLU) is the latest from Japanese master Hirokazu Kore-Eda. SHAKES THE CLOWN (@ BLU) won’t do much for that phobia of yours.
