Our favorite new release this week is RAIDERS! THE STORY OF THE GREATEST FAN FILM EVER MADE (@ BLU). In the early 80’s even before home video had taken over our TVs, three suburban kids decided to do a shot-for-shot remake of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK with their camcorder. It took seven years to complete, but they finally did it, and RAIDERS: THE ADAPTATION was born. Years later, after their remake had unbelievably achieved cult notoriety, the guys reunited to film a scene they were never able to shoot way back in the day. This documentary covers the entire saga, and it’s a heartwarming ode to ingenuity and movie-love.

Arrow has 80’s trash-classic MICROWAVE MASSACRE (@ BLU). Young Kurt Russell is the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in ELVIS (@ BLU). Teenagers get the vote and all Hell breaks loose in WILD IN THE STREETS (@ BLU). SESSION 9 (@ BLU) is another in a long line of horror films about scary abandoned asylums.
