This week brings Best Picture nominee MANCHESTER BY THE SEA (@ BLU), the latest from playwright and filmmaker Kenneth Lonergan, a working-class drama about a man who must take custody of his nephew after his brother’s death. Just when you think this movie can’t get any sadder, it suddenly drops the misery anvil on you. Full of great performances, it’s a subtle, realistic portrayal of grief and loss. Bring Kleenex.
