New Releases for January 19!

It’s another glorious New Release Tuesday!

First up, the Heroes from the Criterion Collection have brought us INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS (@ BLU), one of the very best films of the last few years, and the first of the Coen Brothers’ many masterpieces to make it onto the Criterion label! Now’s your chance to see Poe Dameron and Kylo Ren at their first meeting, way back in the 1960’s! Not sure who the guy in the orange sweater is though.

Then we’ve got another great music-based film out this week, STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON ( BLU), the story of the groundbreaking and notorious NWA. This movie was ridiculously snubbed at the Oscars this year, in our not so humble opinion.

Anne Hathaway is Robert De Niro’s boss in THE INTERN (BLU). 80’s nostalgia blast JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS (BLU) gets a modern adaptation. Check out the other side of “Hamlet” in Tom Stoppard’s ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD (@ BLU). Scary stuff: LUTHER THE GEEK (@ BLU) has bitten off more chicken heads than Ozzy Osbourne, and did you know William Friedkin made a movie called THE GUARDIAN (@ BLU) about a baby-stealing tree?
