New Releases for July 5!

It’s the first New Release Tuesday of July! Time flies.

FIrst up, the Heroes at the Criterion Collection have brought us one of the funniest comedies of the 70’s, THE IN-LAWS (@ BLU). When Alan Arkin’s meek dentist meets his daughter’s fiance’s father (Peter Falk), he discovers that the man is an often reckless international spy. Hijinks definitely ensue. You won’t be able to stop quoting “Serpentine!” to yourself when this is over.

Then, one of the last Studio Ghibli features to receive a domestic release, Isao Takahata’s ONLY YESTERDAY (@ BLU). This little-seen gem might be one of the very best films the legendary studio has produced.
