New Releases for March 22!

It’s another glorious New Release Tuesday!

First up, the Heroes at the Criterion Collection have brought us the late Edward Yang’s long hard-to-see masterpiece A BRIGHTER SUMMER DAY (@ BLU). Never before released on home video, this sprawling four-hour film chronicles the displaced youth of Taiwan and the consequences of modernity encroaching on tradition.

Then, one of the greatest exploitation films of all time is here from Arrow. BLACK MAMA, WHITE MAMA (@ BLU), a loose remake of THE DEFIANT ONES, with Margaret Markov and Pam Grier chained together and escaping from a women’s prison deep in the jungle!
