First up, a movie genetically engineered by the geniuses at Pixar to make adults cry. INSIDE OUT (@ BLU 3D) is the story of a young girl named Riley…actually it’s about the emotions that rule inside her head: Anger, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, and Joy. When Riley’s dad gets a new job and the family has to pick up and move, the pressures of a new city, a new school, and a new life send those feelings into a frenzy, and Joy has to team up with Sadness to set Riley right again. Trust us, bring tissues.

 

Then, one of the most insane, frankly irresponsible pieces of filmmaking ever made. ROAR (@ BLU)is the story of a family besieged by the big cats roaming free on the nature preserve founded by their wild-eyed patriarch. Sounds like a standard nature-gone-amuck movie, right? Nope. ROAR was a completely ill-advised labor of love for actress Tippi Hedren and her husband Noell Marshall, both passionate animal lovers who nonetheless decided to use their personal collection of untrained lions, tigers, and whatever else to film this movie. As the tagline says, no animals were harmed in the making of this film, but over 70 cast- and crew-members were. This is one of the craziest things you’ll ever see.
