As Seattle has fast-forwarded, many of our defining institutions have been lost, and those remaining face a myriad of difficult challenges. Scarecrow is no exception. It has been a cultural gathering place for thousands since its inception in 1988, and as we enter our third year as a non-profit, our commitment to the community we serve has only increased. Through our passion for the Scarecrow collection – which now holds over 130,000 titles – it is not only one of the largest publicly accessible media archives in the country, but also one of the most unique.
Though Scarecrow’s needs are modest for an organization that serves so many, we still need to grow the resources to not only build sustainability but to continue to remain vital to the community through projects like our Children’s Hour, our Silver Screeners program, and our many Screening Room clubs.
All the funds we raise during this campaign will go towards operating essentials as well as providing resources for those community programs.
Join us in supporting one of Seattle’s beloved institutions. Keep Watching! Give Today!
