Rental Rates

New Releases: $4.50 for 2 days
Catalog Titles: $4.50 for 7 days
Family New Releases/Second Take (not-so-new releases): $3 for 4 days
Box sets/full TV series: $6 or $11 for 7 days
Multi-system (PAL, SECAM, NTSC) region-free Blu-Ray/DVD players, multi-system VHS players, and for you old school folks, VCRs and LaserDisc players. Machine rental rates are just $4 a day. Machines do require a security deposit to rent. Please ask us in the store for details.

Save money buy purchasing 10 rental credits for $40. Special deals on credits are available as perks of our memberships.

Prices do not include sales tax.

Getting a Rental Account

To set up a rental account please provide:

government/state issued photo ID
credit or debit card

(If you don’t have a credit card, you can still open an account but you will need to leave a cash deposit for each title you rent. There is a minimum of $25 cash deposit for each title.)

Rental accounts are completely free to open.  In addition, we offer annual memberships which can help members save money on rentals and get other great perks not included with our basic rental account. Please consider supporting Scarecrow by becoming a member, which you can learn more about here.

There is a return box located in the window to the right of the counter. When the store is closed, you may also return rentals to the night dropbox in the front door.

Rental items are due by 8:00pm.

Late Fee Policy

The late fee for NEW RELEASES is the FULL RENTAL PRICE PER LATE DAY

Catalog Title late fees are as follows:

$4.50 titles: $2.25 per late day

$3 titles: $1.50 per late day

$6 titles: $3.00 per late day

$11 titles: $5.50 per late day.

TITLES MUST BE RETURNED BY CLOSING TIME (8PM) TO BE COUNTED AS “ON TIME”, OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE PROCESSED THE NEXT DAY AKA 1 DAY LATE!

If you need your rental(s) for a few extra days, the best way to avoid late fees is by renewing. Just call the store before 8:00pm on the due date and we’ll check them out to you again.

Late titles returned through the drop box will automatically be charged the the credit card on file.  If you would like to take care of any late fees in cash or if you have any questions or issues, please talk to someone at the counter.

2 for 1 Wednesdays

Every Wednesday we offer 2 for 1 rentals. Here’s the fine print:

• The free rental must be of equal or lesser value (yes, you can pay for an $11 rental and get another $11 rental for free).
• You can only get one New Release per pair. It’s good for up to five pairs.
• Does not apply to machine rentals.
• Cannot be combined with any other offers.

Hard to Find or Out of Print Titles

Some titles which are difficult or expensive to replace may require a security deposit.  This can be done with a credit card or cash.
